Bliss Bros. Ice Cream

Since 1930, Bliss ice cream has been made with farm fresh milk and cream, pure cane sugar, and the finest quality ingredients. With the exception of a few flavors with color added, our ice creams are made with natural ingredients. We insist on the finest flavorings, from pure vanilla extract to delicious chocolate chunks. Every scoop, every lick tells you one thing..."Life's pure Bliss!"

1924: October, Bliss Bros. Dairy was created. Thomas and Eva built a small milk plant behind their home. An ice cream stand was also opened. Most of the milk came from the Rehoboth farm by horse and wagon, which was run by Thomas’ brothers, Charlie and Albert. Thomas “Kent” Bliss Jr. remembers selling ice cream from the office next to their kitchen during winter months when the ice cream stand was closed.

1951: Kent Bliss helps family decide to build a new milk and ice cream plant beside the original facility. An expanded ice cream store was also opened.

1960’s-70’s: Selling ice cream to other businesses begins. Home deliveries now dominated by wholesale business.

1963: The ice cream stand is transformed into an ice cream and sandwich restaurant business.

1965: Bliss Bros. Dairy starts selling ice cream to another company, and that began what is now a rapidly growing wholesale ice cream business.

Today: Bliss Bros. Dairy has expanded its restaurant into a family restaurant and ice cream shop, manufacturers a full line of ice cream, frozen yogurt, sherbet, sorbet and ice cream mixes for distribution from Maine to New Jersey. Bliss Bros. also distributes milk and other dairy products throughout southeastern Massachusetts and much of Rhode Island.
